Brothers and Sisters in Christ our Lord,
Good Friday Service Tonight at 6:00 PM
What a wonderful ‘Maundy Thursday’ service of worship we had last night! Tonight, we continue our Holy Week emphasis with our ‘Good Friday’ service at 6:00 PM.
Easter Sunday Celebration of Worship
This Lord’s Day, Easter Sunday, we will be celebrating our Lord’s bodily resurrection from the grave. Our text for the morning sermon will be one that you might not immediately connect to the events at the garden tomb of Jesus. In Exodus 3:1-15 we discover the account of the burning bush and the call of Moses to become Israel’s deliverer. Within the drama of this amazing episode, Moses receives a revelation of God’s “memorial-name” (v. 15). And that sacred “name” is “I AM WHO I AM” (v. 14). Then, some fifteen centuries later, there is One who comes as the Savior of the world. He does not appear in a burning bush, but in a manger in Bethlehem. And He takes up this sacred name and boldly applies it to Himself–“Before Abraham was born, I am” (John 8:58).
So, who was that Man in the tomb? Who was that Man who rose from the grave?
New Sunday School Class for Adults Begins This Sunday!
This Sunday at 9:15 AM in the Worship Center, we will begin a new Sunday School Class for all Adults. I will be teaching on the subject, ‘A Biblical Theology of Human Sexuality.’ Perhaps no subject could be more timely and relevant than this one. In this course we will explore all that God has revealed in His Word regarding the meaning and purpose for marriage and human sexuality. We will discover how God has wonderfully designed these most blessed and sacred gifts to glorify His name, and through them to allow human beings to bear His divine image. Additionally, we will lay the appropriate Scriptural foundation for our belief that marriage is between one man and one woman, and that human sexuality is righteously expressed only within the bonds of this sacred, covenantal union.
A Note From Your Deacons Regarding Our Easter Parking Plan
We expect an especially large crowd on Easter Sunday, which will likely overflow our parking lot. To better accommodate our guests and late arrivals, we ask that our members consider using the overflow parking area provided at the church house. The Deacons will be present to direct all the parking activities. In case inclement weather or muddy conditions preclude the use of the Church house, we will use the paved parking lot at Tortora’s for overflow parking and provide shuttle service to and from the Church building. As you know we had a large number of visitors on Christmas Eve, and some had to depart because there was no parking available. We hope to avoid that situation on Easter Sunday and accommodate everyone. Thanks for your understanding and for your support.
