ORDER OF WORSHIP
May 24, 2015
Call to Worship: Dr. Michael Calvert, Teaching Elder
Isaiah 12:2-6
Pastor: Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and will not be afraid;
People: For the Lord God is my strength and my song, and he has become my salvation.
Pastor: With joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation. And you will say in that day:
People: Give thanks to the Lord, call upon his name,
Pastor: Make known his deeds among the peoples, proclaim that his name is exalted.
People: Sing praises to the Lord, for he has done gloriously; let this be made known in all the earth.
All: Shout, and sing for joy, O inhabitant of Zion, for great in your midst is the Holy One of Israel.
Prayer of Adoration:
Old Testament Lesson: Ezekiel 37:1-14
Song: Lord Most High CCLI# 2037688
From the ends of the earth, from the depths of the sea
From the heights of the heavens, your name be praised
From the hearts of the weak, from the shouts of the strong
From the lips of all people, this song we raise, Lord
CHORUS: Throughout the endless ages
You will be crowned with praises, Lord most high
Exalted in every nation, sovereign of all creation
Lord most high, be magnified
Song: God Of My Life, To Thee I Call CCLI #5397370
God of my life, to Thee I call, afflicted at Thy feet I fall
When the great water flood prevail, leave not my trembling heart to fail
CHORUS: Poor though I am, despised, forgot
Yet God, my God, forgets me not
And he is safe, and must succeed, for whom the Lord is sure to plead
Friend of the friendless and the faint, where should I lodge my deep complaint?
Where but with Thee whose open door invites the helpless and the poor
That were a grief I could not bear didst Thou not hear and answer prayer;
But a prayer hearing, answering God supports me under every load.
New Testament Lesson: John 15:26-27, 16:4-15
Confession of Sin:
Eternal and merciful God, You have loved us with a love beyond our understanding, and You have set us on paths of righteousness for Your name’s sake. Yet we have strayed from Your way; we have sinned against You in thought, word, and deed, through what we have done and what we have left undone. As we remember the lavish gift of Your grace we praise You and give You thanks that You forgive us yet again. Grant us now, we pray, the grace to die daily to sin, and to rise daily to new life in Christ, who lives and reigns with You, and in whose strong name we pray. Amen.
Assurance of Pardon:
Song of Response: What Wondrous Love Is This? Hymn 261 v.1-3
Scripture Reading and Prayer for the Church:

Preaching of the Word: Dr. Michael Calvert, Teaching Elder
“Water From the Rock” Exodus 17:1-7
Confession of Faith: The Apostles’ Creed
I believe in God the Father, Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth: And in Jesus Christ, his only begotten Son, our Lord: Who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary: Suffered under Pontius Pilate; was crucified, dead and buried: He descended into hell: The third day he rose again from the dead: He ascended into heaven, and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty: From thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost: The holy universal church: The communion of saints: The forgiveness of sins: The resurrection of the body: And the life everlasting. Amen.
Communion*:
