Psalm 29:1-4,11

Pastor: Ascribe to the Lord, O heavenly beings, ascribe to the Lord glory and strength.

Pastor: The voice of the Lord is over the waters; the God of glory thunders, the Lord, over many waters.
People: The voice of the Lord is powerful; the voice of the Lord is full of majesty.
Pastor: May the Lord give strength to his people!
All: May the Lord bless his people with peace!

Prayer of Adoration:

Old Testament Lesson: Isaiah 6:1-8

Confession of Faith: The Heidelberg Catechism

Q 32: Why are you called a Christian?

A: Because I am a member of Christ by faith and thus share in His anointing, so that I may as prophet confess His Name, as priest present myself a living sacrifice of thankfulness to Him, and as king fight with a free and good conscience against sin and the devil in this life, and hereafter reign with Him eternally over all creatures.

Song: Praise to the Lord, the Almighty Hymn No. 53

Song: Before the Throne CCLI# 2306412

Before the throne of God above, I have a strong and perfect plea
A great High Priest whose name is love, who ever lives and pleads for me
My name is graven on His hands, my name is written on His heart
I know that while in heav’n He stands, no tongue can bid me thence depart
No tongue can bid me thence depart

When Satan tempts me to despair, and tells me of the guilt within
Upward I look and see Him there, who made an end of all my sin
Because the sinless Savior died, my sinful soul is counted free
For God the Just is satisfied, to look on Him and pardon me
To look on Him and pardon me

Behold Him there, the risen Lamb, my perfect, spotless Righteousness
The great unchangeable I AM, the King of glory and of grace
One with Himself, I cannot die, my soul is purchased by His blood
My life is hid with Christ on high, with Christ my Savior and my God
With Christ my Savior and my God

New Testament Lesson: John 3:1-8

Song: Great Is Thy Faithfulness Hymn No. 32

Scripture Reading and Prayer for the Church:
Dr. Bud Lancaster, Ruling Elder Romans 10

Preaching of the Word: Dr. Michael Calvert, Teaching Elder
“The Covenant With Moses, Part I” Exodus 19:1-6

Confession of Sin and The Lord’s Prayer

Assurance of Pardon: Galatians 1:3-5

Communion*:

Song: Joyful, Joyful CCLI# 25321

Joyful, joyful, we adore thee, God of glory, Lord of Love
Hearts unfold like flowers before thee, praising Thee their sun above
Melt the clouds of sin and sadness, drive the dark of doubt away
Giver of immortal gladness, fill us with the light of day

All Thy works with joy surround thee, Earth and heaven reflect Thy rays
Stars and angels sing around Thee, center of unbroken praise
Field and forest, vale and mountain, blooming meadow, flashing sea
Chanting bird and flowing fountain call us to rejoice in thee

Benediction:

*Professing and baptized members in good standing of a Church in which Jesus Christ is proclaimed as Lord and Savior are warmly invited to join with us in the celebration of the Lord’s Supper.
