ORDER OF WORSHIP
June 21, 2015
Call to Worship: Psalm 143

Pastor: Hear my prayer, O Lord; give ear to my pleas for mercy! In your faithfulness answer me, in your righteousness!
People: Enter not into judgment with your servant, for no one living is righteous before you.
Pastor: For the enemy has pursued my soul; he has crushed my life to the ground; he has made me sit in darkness like those long dead.
People: Therefore my spirit faints within me; my heart within me is appalled.
Pastor: I stretch out my hands to you; my soul thirsts for you like a parched land.
People: Answer me quickly, O Lord! My spirit fails!
Pastor: Let me hear in the morning of your steadfast love, for in you I trust.
All: Deliver me from my enemies, O Lord! I have fled to you for refuge.

Confession of Faith: The Apostles’ Creed

I believe in God the Father, Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth: And in Jesus Christ, his only begotten Son, our Lord: Who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary: Suffered under Pontius Pilate; was crucified, dead and buried: He descended into hell: The third day he rose again from the dead: He ascended into heaven, and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty: From thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost: The holy universal church: The communion of saints: The forgiveness of sins: The resurrection of the body: And the life everlasting. Amen.
Prayer of Adoration:

Old Testament Lesson: Job 38:1-11

Corporate Confession of Sin:

Almighty God, rich in mercy to all those who call upon You, hear us as we come to You humbly confessing our sins and transgressions, and imploring Your mercy and forgiveness. We have broken Your holy laws by our deeds and by our words, and by the sinful affections of our hearts. We confess before You our disobedience and ingratitude, our pride and willfulness, and all our failures and shortcomings toward You and toward our fellow men. Have mercy upon us, most merciful Father, and of Your great goodness grant that we may hereafter serve and please You in new- ness of life; through the merit and mediation of Jesus Christ our Lord.

Assurance of Pardon: Colossians 1:22

Song: O For A Thousand Tongues To Sing Hymn 164 v.1-4

Song: In the Shadow of the Glorious Cross CCLI #5133895

In the shadow of the glorious cross, compelled by grace to cast my lot
I’ll discard the loss and bare your name, forsaking all for your own fame.

Your hymn of grace sung over me, abounding forth in glorious streams
My thirst is quenched by you my Lord, sustained am I, redeemed, restored
Sustained am I, redeemed, restored

CHORUS: Hallelujah! Hallelujah!

When death’s dark shadow’s at my feet, when I am plagued by unbelief
You place my hands into your side, by precious blood identified
By precious blood identified

These crowns I’ve clenched with fisted hands, I cast the down before the throne
Of Christ my God, the worthy lamb, Christ crucified, the Great I AM
Christ crucified, the Great I AM, Christ crucified, the Great I AM

New Testament Lesson: Mark 4:31-35

Song of Response: The Precious Blood CCLI# 4804297

Before the cross I kneel and see the measure of my sin
How You became a curse for me though You were innocent
The magnitude of Your great love Was shown in full degree
When righteous blood, the crimson spill rained down from Calvary

CHORUS
Oh, the precious blood that flowed from Mercy’s side
Washed away my sin when Christ my Savior died
Oh, the precious blood of Christ the crucified
It speaks for me before Your throne where I stand justified

And who am I that I should know this treasure of such worth
My Savior’s pure atoning blood shed for the wrath I’d earned
For sin has stained my every deed my every word and thought
What wondrous love that makes me one your priceless blood has bought
