ORDER OF WORSHIP
August 16, 2015

Call to Worship: Proverbs 3:5-6
Confession of Faith: The Nicene Creed

Pastor: I believe in one God, the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and of all things visible and invisible.
People: And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God, begotten of the Father before all worlds;
Pastor: God of God, Light of Light, very God of very God; begotten, not made, being of one substance with the Father, by whom all things were made.
People: Who, for us men and for our salvation, came down from heaven, and was incarnate by the Holy Spirit of the virgin Mary, and was made man; and was crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate;
Pastor: He suffered and was buried; and the third day He rose again, according to the Scriptures; and ascended into heaven, and sits on the right hand of the Father; and He shall come again, with glory, to judge the quick and the dead; whose kingdom shall have no end.
People: And I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord and Giver of Life; who proceeds from the Father and the Son; who with the Father and the Son together is worshipped and glorified; who spoke by the prophets.
All: And I believe in one holy universal and apostolic Church. I acknowledge one baptism for the remission of sins; and I look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen.

Prayer of Adoration:

Old Testament Lesson: 1 Kings 2:10-12; 3:3-14

Song: Lord Most High CCLI #2037688

From the ends of the earth, from the depths of the sea
From the heights of the heavens, your name be praised
From the hearts of the weak, from the shouts of the strong
From the lips of all people, this song we raise, Lord

CHORUS: Throughout the endless ages
You will be crowned with praises, Lord most high
Exalted in every nation, sovereign of all creation
Lord most high, be magnified

Song: God Of My Life, To Thee I Call CCLI# 5397370

God of my life, to Thee I call, afflicted at Thy feet I fall
When the great water flood prevail, leave not my trembling heart to fail

CHORUS: Poor though I am, despised, forgot
Yet God, my God, forgets me not
And he is safe, and must succeed, for whom the Lord is sure to plead

Friend of the friendless and the faint, where should I lodge my deep complaint?
Where but with Thee whose open door invites the helpless and the poor

That were a grief I could not bear didst Thou not hear and answer prayer;
But a prayer hearing, answering God supports me under every load.
