From the Flower Guild:
Tuesday, December 22, 2015 – 10AM
1. We plan to complete all outdoor decorations – placing fresh wreaths with bows on all entrance doors, one front window, and side door. Suction cup wreath hangers will be provided for this.
2. Cutting, folding, and wrapping all poinsettia plants.
Wednesday, December 23, 2015 – 10AM
1. Please bring your clippers and fresh greenery for arranging. Our needs are: Little Gem Magnolia, Grandiflora Magnolia, Holly, Cedar, Pine, Cryptomeria, Nandina with berries, and Jackson Vine. Please condition these the day before – woody stems should be cut in an “X” on the bottom and use a veggie peeler to trim around the sides of the stem – about 3″ high. Make sure to use clean buckets and water.
2. We will plan on completing the following arranangements:
10 Sanctuary windows – with lanterms, candles, poinsettias, glass blocks or bricks, and fresh greenery.
3 Narthex arrangements on tables – poinsettias with fresh greenery.
2 Restrooms – poinsettias with greenery
Mantle above altar to be done by Amy with poinsettias, fresh greenery, etc. Helper provided by church will do the ladder work.
2 pedestals on altar – these will be done by Virdia and Donna with poinsettias and fresh greenery.
We should be able to complete this on Wednesdaymorning, then it will not be necessary for anyone to come on Christmas Eve until right before the service – turn on candles, etc. The poinsettias in the Narthex can go home with donors on Christmas Eve; the rest on Sunday after our morning service.
We will also need help putting everything away and cleaning up. Either Sunday afternoon or Monday morning.
Thank you all for assisting us in decorating to the glory of God.
Contact Donna or Virdia for questions (or Jack at the church email – he can forward to them!).
