ORDER OF WORSHIP
January 10, 2016

Call to Worship: Psalm 29:1-2

Corporate Prayer of Adoration:

Almighty Lord God, You gave Your Son, Jesus Christ, to be the light of the world: We praise and magnify Your holy name that in Him You have revealed the wonder of Your saving love to all people. With those of old who brought their tribute to His feet, confessing Him as King of heaven and earth, we now present the worship of our grateful hearts, asking You to grant us grace to offer ourselves to You, through the same Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.

Confession of Faith: The Belgic Confession, Article 11: The Deity of the Holy Spirit

Pastor: We believe and confess also that the Holy Spirit proceeds eternally from the Father and the Son,
People: Neither made, nor created, nor begotten, but only proceeding from the two of them.
Pastor: In regard to order, He is the third Person of the Trinity,
People: Of one and the same essence, and majesty, and glory, with the Father and the Son.
All: He is true and eternal God, as the Holy Scriptures teach us.

Old Testament Lesson: Isaiah 42:1-9

Song: I Sing the Almighty Power of God – Hymn 119 v.1-3

Song: We Shall Feast in the House of Zion – CCLI #7041364

CHORUS:
We will feast in the house of Zion, we will sing with our hearts restored
“He has done great things” we will say together
we will feast and weep no more

We will not be burned by the fire; He is the Lord our God
We are not consumed by the flood; upheld, protected, gathered up

In the dark of night before the dawn, my soul be not afraid
For the promised morning, oh how long! O God of Jacob, be my strength

Every vow we’ve broken and betrayed, You are the faithful One
And from the garden to the grave, bind us together, bring shalom

New Testament Lesson: Acts 10:34-43

Song: How Deep – CCLI# 4803944

You were broken that I might be healed
You were cast off that I might draw near
You were thirsty that I might come drink
Cried out in anguish that I might sing

CHORUS: How deep is Your love, how high and how wide is your mercy
How deep is Your grace, our hearts overflow with praise to you

You knew darkness that I might know light
Wept great tears that mine might be dried
Stripped of glory that I might be clothed
Crushed by Your Father to call me Your own
