Announcements – Childrens’ Sunday School

Parents,

We are thrilled to start back to Sunday school after an amazing summer OFF from our classes. As you know, we break up our age-appropriate classes as follows. I am also including our teachers who graciously volunteer their time to lead. As always, please be in prayer for these teachers and let me know if you are wiling to help in any capacity (teaching, subbing, helping w/ children’s).
2 & 3s Class: Rachel Matheny, Erin Bower, Courtney McCool
Pre-K/Kinder: Stanley & Penny Gibson, Steve & Nikki Profozich
1st/2nd: Todd and Mollie Cranford, Ollie Burton
3rd/4th/5th: Meghan Wohleber
Each year, we use Great Commission Publications for our curriculum. This is a solidly reformed curriculum which guides the children through the story of redemption as displayed in the Bible from Genesis to Revelation. It may seem redundant that they study the same stories every 2-3 yrs, but you can never underplay the value of repetition. Here are the GCP Distinctions:
Even our toddlers memorize the first 6-8 catechism, sing and study God’s Word via the bible stories. This year, I am excited that our older class, the 3rd thru 5th class, will study the classic Pilgrim’s Progress by John Bunyon. Not only will they learn more about what it means to be a true Christian, but also about what the Christian life looks like – diving into the heart and character of a Christian. Your kids are going to love following along on Christian’s journey to the Celestial City!
Pray with me as we begin the Sunday school year, and pray also for the teachers who lead these classes. Your work is not in vain, but prayerfully, will have eternal fruit shown on the day Christ returns! I look forward to many opportunities for fellowship and growth this coming year!
In Him,
Ashley
