Sermon Preview
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
This coming Lord’s Day it will once again be our great delight to have Rev. Jim Daughtry in our pulpit. Jim will be preaching a message entitled “The Joy of Forgiveness” from Psalm 32.
I will be away this Saturday and Sunday on a father-daughter trip with Brooke. She gave me a very special Christmas present this year—tickets to an out of town concert (some of you will remember Steven Curtis Chapman). Please pray for Jim as he delivers the Word of the Lord, and take some time before Sunday to prepare your heart for worship by reflecting upon this great Psalm of David.
Also on Sunday, Matthew Elliott will be teaching our Adult Sunday School Class. He will be speaking on the subject of how the body of Christ can assist those who are dealing with ‘spiritual depression.’ Matthew will continue this important topic on February 25.
Let me also say a special word to all of our men and young men. Our Men’s Spring Bible Study will begin on Sunday March 4, from 2:30 to 4:00 PM at the Church, and will continue on March 11, 18, and April 8. Our topic will be the Book of Psalms, and we will be using Learning to Love the Psalms, by W. Robert Godfrey as our textbook. The Amazon link is below, and for more information contact Mark Cooper.

Announcements:
Youth Group: Youth Group meets again on February 18 at the church at 4:30 PM for all students in grades 6-12. Invite friends and neighbors!
Women’s Bible Studies: The Women’s weekly studies are ongoing. The Tuesday evening study is at 6 PM, while the Wednesday morning study is at 9:30 AM. Please make sure that the leaders of the respective studies have your contact information so that they can get in touch with you in the event of cancellation or rescheduling.
Men’s Bible Study: The Men’s Morning Bible Study is also back in action, meeting every other Thursday. The next meeting is February 15 at 6 AM.
Men’s Spring Bible Study: As we look forward to spring, please plan to attend our Spring Men’s Bible Study. Mike will be sharing lessons from the Psalms. We will be using Learning to Love the Psalms by W. Robert Godfrey as our main resource. We will meet from 2:30 – 4:00 pm on Sunday March 4, 11, and 18 and ending on 08 April.
This bible study represents the start of our fourth year of biannual bible studies. The Lord has poured out His blessings on us. We have been able to grow closer together while being challenged and encouraged by our studies. It has been wonderful to have our beloved Pastor teach us, allowing us to hear and see his heart and the heart of our session. Women’s Monthly Lunch: The next Women’s Monthly Lunch is March 1 at 11:30 AM.
Alleluia Choir: Alleluia Choir for students in Second through Sixth Grades has resumed, meeting from 3:30-4:20 PM upstairs in the Church House. New choristers are always welcome.
Senior Fellows: Senior Fellows will attend the UAH Chargers Hockey Game at the Von Braun Center 6 PM, Friday, Feb 23. Carpools leave the Church at 5 PM. Visitors are welcome. Call 256-503-2853 for more information.
Stafford Baby Shower: There will be a baby shower to celebrate the arrival of Baby Stafford on February 24 at 2 PM at the church. Contact Fatihann Gibson to help.
Cummings Wedding Shower: There will be a wedding shower to celebrate David Cummings’ bride-to-be Ansley on March 3 at 10:30 AM at the church house. Contact Ashley Turnbull to help.
New Members Class: The next New Members Class will be on February 25 from 2 to 6 PM at the church. Childcare will be provided, and there will be a meal immediately following. Attending the class does not obligate you to join the church, but those wishing to join must attend the class. Visitors will not receive this notice via email, so if you know of any visitors interested in church membership, please help make them aware of the upcoming class date.
Mom’s Coffee Night: Moms’ Coffee Night is a small fellowship for moms to gather and pray. Date is Thursday, 2/22, from 6:30 to 8:00. Contact Nikki Profozich if you want to be involved and plan to invite a mom-friend from your school or homeschool group to join us. We’d love to have guests so that we may pray for our children together!
