Announcements:

Summer Schedule: As of Sunday May 27, Christ Presbyterian is on Summer Schedule. There will be no Sunday School, and regularly scheduled bible studies for men, women, and youth are on hiatus. Fellowship will be each Sunday at 10 AM, with worship beginning at 10:30 AM. Check this space for information regarding when the normal schedule will resume, including dates and times for specific studies and activities.

Church picnic: Our annual Church Picnic is coming up Sunday, June 24th at the Huntsville Botanical Gardens from 2-6 PM. Meat and water will be provided. Sign up here to bring side dishes. If you would like to tour the Gardens, the cost is $4 per person, and there is a signup sheet in the Narthex.

Women’s Monthly Lunch: The next Women’s Monthly Lunch is July 5 at 11:30 AM.

Men’s Whitewater Rafting Trip: After surveying the congregation, it looks like July 21 is the Saturday that accommodates the most people. Adam Turnbull will be in touch shortly with those expressing interest. Please contact him if you have any questions.

Psummer Psalms: Psummer Psalms! Memorize one entire Psalm this summer, then join us for a recitation at the church, followed by ice cream. NOTE: This announcement earlier indicated that it was for men’s ministry only; actually everyone is encouraged to participate. Recitation can be individual, or together in a group or family. If desired, you may give a reason for picking your specific Psalm before you recite it. Once we’re done sharing God’s word from memory, we’ll share some ice cream in the fellowship hall.
“How sweet are your words to my taste…” Psalm 119:103. We are planning the event for Sunday, August 12 at 4:30pm.
If interested, email darondrown@gmail.com for weekly encouragement and accountability.

CASA Ministry: The Senior Fellows would like to invite others in the church to join them in forming a ramp building ministry in conjunction with CASA (Care Assurance System for the Aging and Homebound) of Madison County. This organization provides all the necessary building materials—but the need is great for teams of builders of all skill levels to come together whenever possible to offer this much needed service to the homebound. Builds can be done on Saturday mornings and generally take about 3-4 hours. If you would be interested in being a part of this, please attend the one hour informational meeting on Thursday, June 21, at 7:00 pm in the Church House. If you are interested but would be unable to attend the meeting, please contact David O’Neil or Al Bart for more information.

Participation in PCA MNA Disaster Response: Members of our church met in May with a representative of the PCA Mission to North America Disaster Response Ministry. This PCA ministry provides support to PCA churches in disaster affected communities. We are considering forming a disaster response team within our church to help out when disasters occur within our presbytery. We need at least 8 team members; we now have 4. If you are interested in becoming a part of our disaster response team, contact Alan Cockrell at alanhcockrell@gmail.com.

FCA Power Camp Food Needs: Thank you so much for the response to filling food needs at the upcoming FCA camp! Your food donations feed the interns, huddle leaders, coaches, volunteers, and staff the week of camp. It is amazing how many of the younger volunteers work so hard for the reward of a food treat 🙂 (ice cream, little Debbie’s, granola bars, and fruit snacks are some favorites). If you are still interested in dropping food off there are still needs and there is still time! We would love more of the following:

Root Beer (2 liters)
Ice Cream or Ice Cream Treats
Ice Cream Toppings
Granola Bars
Fruit Snacks
Cookies, bars, cakes
Veggie or fruit trays with or without dip

Food can be dropped off this Sunday (June 17th…Fathers Day😊), or at anytime during the camp. Camp is held at Hampton Cove Middle School across the street from our church from 8:30am-3:00pm.

Even above food needs, we always need prayers! There is a great group of young huddle leaders, coaches, and staff that such a heart to share the gospel with their young campers. It would be such a blessing to cover them in prayer as they work this summer to serve the Lord! May we do everything in order to please the Lord our Savior above all else!

If you have any questions let me know!
Thank you!

Baby Nursery Volunteers: Moms of babies/toddlers, please sign up to work in our baby nursery at least once this summer. I also encourage all ladies of the church to sign-up. We are down a staff member there (Mrs. Irene had shoulder surgery) until the fall. Please consider serving our families in this way! Click HERE to sign up.

New Nursery Staff Member: Please welcome Miss Tori to our nursery staff. She is working with children in the first classroom next to the kitchen. Please be mindful of this and let your children know they cannot run through the kitchen or try to access that room. This is now considered a part of our nursery and only accessible for Miss Tori and our mothers.

VBS Needs: We are still in need of storytellers for VBS. This involves coming each day for about 1.5 hrs to present a short story to each age group. This is fun and interactive. I had amazing tellers last year, and it is such a blessing for our children and the main method that the gospel theme is presented to them each day. Please email me to volunteer for 1 or more days! This can be men, women, or a young adult. Sign up HERE. There are several needs, so please pray about helping us! We cannot do it without you guys!

Senior Fellows June Activities: On Monday, June 25 from 6:30 to 8:00 PM the Senior Fellows will attend Music In The Park at Big Spring International Park (behind the Huntsville Museum of Art) to hear the US Army Materiel Command Bands. Bring chairs, picnic dinner, etc. Meet at the Kennedy Memorial Torch. Bring your spouse, kids, grand-kids and friends.
