Sermon Preview:

Dear Brothers and Sisters in the Lord,

Before I introduce you to our message for this coming Lord’s Day, let me take a moment to remind you that our Fall Sunday School Ministry begins this week!

As always, there will be classes for all ages, and we will meet each week at our new time of 9:30 AM. I hope you will not only join us as we study and fellowship together, but that you will fervently pray for all those who teach and lead us as we probe the riches of God’s Word together, educating ourselves for the purpose of serving Him more fully.

Let me also remind you that there will be a very special class offered for High School students through Adults. I will be teaching on the subject of ‘Understanding the Times.’ The class will meet in our Worship Center.

Over the next eleven weeks, we will examine those forces and movements that are shaping our nation and our world today, and presenting many challenges to our worship and witness as Christians. Together, we will learn how to think about and evaluate these movements in view of God’s Word, and how to respond with a Christian answer.

You can find our class outlines and resource list on our Church website, which may be downloaded and printed for your use.

I look forward to seeing you at 9:30 AM on Sunday!

Then, this Lord’s Day we will return to our series of sermons from the Epistle to the Hebrews. Our text for this week, and for a couple of weeks afterwards, is Hebrews 4:14-16.

In this magnificent passage we find the inspired author’s exaltation of our “ great high priest,” our Lord Jesus, who is superior to the Old Testament priesthood, including even the high priest!

As you prepare for this message, you will benefit from reading Hebrews 4:14 through 5:10, and then chapters 7 and 8.

I love you all so very much!

Mike

COVID-19 Message:

For those of you who are attending worship in person on Sunday morning, please practice social distancing as much as you are able and observe the pew markers so that we may keep a safe, 6-ft between families. During this time, we will not have nursery or fellowship time with food and drink. If any family member has been sick, or you have a pre-existing condition, please consider staying home and joining us by watching the recorded service when it is sent out. The Session has asked all congregants, out of love for one another, to wear a mask throughout our worship service if you are able. We hope and pray that if you have any needs, you will let a staff member or deacon know so that we can serve you well during this trying time.

Church Work Day:

We will have Church Work Day 8 AM – Noon, Saturday, October 24. The purpose is to perform needed landscaping and cleaning at the Church and Church House. While doing this, we will have a great time of fellowship. We need the help of about 30 adults and teens to help with this job. We also need tools.
Please sign up in the narthex to help and bring needed tools or send sign up email to Joe Sims at: vegeman1966@gmail.com
We will maintain social distancing and provide sanitary snacks (packaged and bottled water).
If the weather is bad, our backup Work Day will be Saturday, November 7.
