Sermon Preview:

Beloved Brothers and Sisters in the Lord,

Over the last couple of Sundays, we’ve discovered that there are some surprising ways that we develop a deeper and more intimate knowledge of our Savior. In Philippians 3:10-11 the Apostle Paul sets out three pathways whereby believers enter into a deeper understanding and personal knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Last week we examined the first of these ways. And you will recall that it is through our daily experience of the awesome “power” of our Lord’s “resurrection.” This Lord’s Day, we will consider the other two ways: through our fellowship with His “sufferings,” and by means of our conformity to His “death.”

As we prepare our hearts for this message from God’s Word, let us keep in mind that the goal of life is not that we might know more about Christ, or know more about the truths of the Gospel–as essential as these are–but that we would know Him more!

Fellowship Lunch Following Worship This Sunday!

Immediately after our morning worship our fellowship lunch will be served. We invite all members and guests to join us!

Third Sunday Lunch:

Please join us this Sunday after worship for fellowship and feasting.  We will have a variety of chili soups with toppings, salads and desserts!

Click HERE to sign up to bring something if you would like to help.  Even if you don’t bring anything this time, please make plans to eat and visit with your church family!  ALL are welcome.

Family Forum:

We wanted to give you an opportunity to sign up for our upcoming Family Forum ministry event at Christ Presbyterian Church, Friday, February 18th!

Our family forum is an opportunity for our church members to consider various topics on Christian discipleship, family, marriage, and parenting. Our sessions for this forum will orbit around the topic of parenting and sexuality. We will consider Biblical wisdom and guidance for parenting in an age of sexual chaos, promote awareness of helpful literature and resources for talking to your children and teens about sex and sexuality, and devote some time to discussion and Q/A.

While the forum will be directly helpful to parents, the event will be informative and useful to any who have a present or future interest in the discipleship of children. Please consider this opportunity as you consider your role as a parent, grandparent, or your general commitment to the nurture of covenant children in our fellowship!

The event begins at 5:30pm with an optional fellowship dinner preceding the sessions. If you choose to forgo the dinner, the forum will begin at 6:15. The cost of the forum is free. For the dinner, a $10 (per person) donation is encouraged to help us offset the cost of food.

If you are interested in attending, please let us know by clicking here!

For additional questions, please contact Matthew Elliott at matthew@christpreshamptoncove.org.

Children’s Ministry:

I hope you all had a wonderful advent season and are filled with hope and encouragement as we get ready to face a new year. I have created a new nursery volunteer sign up for the first quarter of 2022.

We invite any lady aged 13-113 who is a member of Christ Pres to volunteer to help our nursery staff during worship service on Sundays. We have been operating with one nursery and have had anywhere from 2-8 children in our nursery. Due to potential large numbers, we are adding an additional volunteer slot. With fewer than 6 children, one volunteer will be dismissed to worship.

Please follow the link below to sign up. On the day(s) you are signed up, you will report to the nursery at 10:15 to help greet our littles as they arrive. Amanda or Ashley will be there to get you started and Mrs. Irene, our nursery worker, will be there the duration of the service.

Signup Genius sends you a reminder two days out so you won’t forget!
