Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
As we come before our King in worship this Lord’s Day, our sermon passage will be taken from Romans 6:3-6.  I would encourage you to get familiar with that entire section of Romans (which runs from 6:1-13) in preparation for our study.
As you will remember, the subject under consideration is ‘The Curious Paradoxes of Our New Identity in Christ.’  And this Sunday we will prayerfully reflect upon the fact that in Christ, we are simultaneously ‘Alive and Crucified.’  That is, something about us is now dead, having been crucified with Christ.  But we are also very much alive.  Yet, how could this be? And in what way, and in what sense, are we both alive and crucified?
As this strange paradox unfolds before us, we will come to recognize the amazing challenges and eternal blessings of being both alive and dead!  I can’t wait to open our Father’s Word with each of you this Sunday!

ANNOUNCEMENTS

Women’s Ministry
• The Tuesday morning study begins January 16th, 9:30-11:00am at the church. Childcare will be provided. We will study the book ‘Five Lies of our Anti Christian Age’ by Rosaria Butterfield.
• The Tuesday evening Bible study will begin on January 9th at 6:00pm at the home of Cynthia Keen. We will study the book “Identity Theft – Reclaiming the Truth of Who we are in Christ”
• The Wednesday morning study begins January 10th in the church Fellowship Hall from 10 to 11:30 am.
• Senior Sisters meets monthly on the third Thursday from 10:00 to 11:30am.
• Senior Sisters exercise class meets Tuesdays at the church, 10:00 to 11:30am.
• Monthly luncheon held the first Thursday of the month at Timbers Edge Clubhouse at 11am.
• Ladies Family Forum – Geared toward ladies with elementary age children, the topic will be “Raising Children in a Christ-centered Home.” February 8th from 6:30-8:30pm at the home of Leslie Jeffries

Men’s Ministry
• Senior Fellows – Our next breakfast will be at 9:00am on Tuesday, Jan. 9th.
• Men’s Lunchtime Book/Bible Study begins on January 12 at the church and will end on May 17th.

Career Ministry – Bible study & fellowship meets at the home of Jim and Sharon Daughtry, Sundays at 5:30 pm.

Baby Showers – Baby Shower for ShayAbigail Beam on Saturday, February 3rd from 9-11am at the home of Ashley Turnbull.
