ORDER OF WORSHIP
May 17, 2015

Call to Worship: Dr. Michael Calvert, Teaching Elder
2 Samuel 22:2-4,31-33

Pastor: The LORD is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer, my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold and my refuge, my Savior; You save me from violence.
People: I call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised, and I am saved from my enemies.
Pastor: This God—His way is perfect; the word of the LORD proves true; He is a shield for all those who take refuge in Him.
People: For who is God, but the LORD? And who is a rock, except our God? This God is my strong refuge and has made my way blameless.

Prayer of Adoration:

Old Testament Lesson: Psalm 1

Song: All Hail the Power of Jesus’ Name Hymn 296 v.1,3,6
Song: How Deep, the Father’s Love For Us CCLI #1558110

How deep the Father’s love for us, how vast beyond all measure
That he should give his only son, to make a wretch his treasure
How great the pain of searing loss, the Father turned his face away
As wounds which mar the chosen one bring many sons to glory

Behold the man upon a cross, my sin upon his shoulders
Ashamed, I hear my mocking voice call out among the scoffers
It was my sin that held him there until it was accomplished
His dying breath has brought me life; I know that it is finished

I will not boast in anything: no gifts, no power, no wisdom
But I will boast in Jesus Christ; his death and resurrection
Why should I gain from his reward? I cannot give an answer
But this I know with all my heart: his wounds have paid my ransom

New Testament Lesson: John 17:6-19

Confession of Sin:

Assurance of Pardon: 2 Corinthians 13:4

Song of Response: Have Thine Own Way Hymn 688 v.1-4

Scripture Reading and Prayer for the Church: Fred Fohrell, Ruling Elder
Romans 8:26-39
