ORDER OF WORSHIP
October 25, 2015
Call to Worship: Psalm 104:1-4
Pastor: When the Lord restored the fortunes of Zion, we were like those who dream.
People: Then our mouth was filled with laughter, and our tongue with shouts of joy;
Pastor: Then they said among the nations, “The Lord has done great things for them.”
People: The Lord has done great things for us; we are glad.
Pastor: Restore our fortunes, O Lord, like streams in the Negeb!
People: Those who sow in tears shall reap with shouts of joy!
All: He who goes out weeping, bearing the seed for sowing, shall come home with shouts of joy, bringing his sheaves with him.
Prayer of Adoration:
Old Testament Lesson: Job 42:1-6, 10-17
Song: I Sing the Almighty Power of God Hymn 119 v.1-3
Song: We Shall Feast in the House of Zion CCLI #7041364
CHORUS:
We will feast in the house of Zion, we will sing with our hearts restored
“He has done great things” we will say together
we will feast and weep no more
We will not be burned by the fire; He is the Lord our God
We are not consumed by the flood; upheld, protected, gathered up
In the dark of night before the dawn, my soul be not afraid
For the promised morning, oh how long! O God of Jacob, be my strength
Every vow we’ve broken and betrayed, You are the faithful One
And from the garden to the grave, bind us together, bring shalom
New Testament Lesson: Hebrews 7:23-28
Confession of Faith: The Apostles’ Creed
I believe in God the Father, Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth: And in Jesus Christ, his only begotten Son, our Lord: Who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary: Suffered under Pontius Pilate; was crucified, dead and buried: He descended into hell: The third day he rose again from the dead: He ascended into heaven, and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty: From thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost: The holy universal church: The communion of saints: The forgiveness of sins: The resurrection of the body: And the life everlasting. Amen.
Song of Response: Sovereign CCLI #6453309
Sovereign in the mountain air, Sovereign on the ocean floor
With me in the calm, With me in the storm
Sovereign in my greatest joy, Sovereign in my deepest cry
With me in the dark, With me at the dawn
CHORUS:
In Your everlasting arms, all the pieces of my life
From beginning to the end, I can trust You
In Your never failing love, You work everything for good
God whatever comes my way, I will trust You
