Order of Worship – May 1 2016

Call to Worship: Hebrews 12:1-2

Prayer of Adoration:

Old Testament Lesson: Psalm 66:1-9

Pastor: Shout for joy to God, all the earth; sing the glory of his name; give to him glorious praise!
People: Say to God, “How awesome are your deeds! So great is your power that your enemies come cringing to you.
Pastor: All the earth worships you and sings praises to you; they sing praises to your name.”
People: Come and see what God has done: he is awesome in his deeds toward the children of man.
Pastor: He turned the sea into dry land; they passed through the river on foot.
People: There did we rejoice in him, who rules by his might forever, whose eyes keep watch on the nations—let not the rebellious exalt themselves.
All: Bless our God, O peoples; let the sound of his praise be heard, who has kept our soul among the living and has not let our feet slip.

Song: How Deep – CCLI# 4803944

You were broken that I might be healed
You were cast off that I might draw near
You were thirsty that I might come drink
Cried out in anguish that I might sing

CHORUS: How deep is Your love, how high and how wide is your mercy
How deep is Your grace, our hearts overflow with praise to you

You knew darkness that I might know light
Wept great tears that mine might be dried
Stripped of glory that I might be clothed
Crushed by Your Father to call me Your own

Song: Come Ye Souls By Sin Afflicted – CCLI# 2263115

Come ye souls by sin afflicted, Bowed with fruitless sorrow down;
By the broken law convicted, through the cross, behold the crown;
Look to Jesus; Look to Jesus; Look to Jesus;
Mercy flows through Him alone.

Take His easy yoke and wear it; Love will make your obedience sweet
Christ will give you strength to bear it, while His grace shall guide your feet
Safe to glory, Safe to glory, Safe to glory,
Where His ransomed captives meet.

Blessed are the eyes that see Him, Blest the ears that hear His voice;
Blessed are the souls that trust Him, And in Him alone rejoice;
His commandments, His commandments, His commandments
Then become their happy choice.

Sweet as home to pilgrims weary, Light to newly, opened eyes,
Like full springs in deserts dreary, Is the rest the cross supplies;
All who taste it, All who taste it, All who taste it
Shall to rest immortal rise.

Look to Jesus; Look to Jesus; Look to Jesus;
Mercy flows through Him alone.

I believe in God the Father, Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth: And in Jesus Christ, his only begotten Son, our Lord: Who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary: Suffered under Pontius Pilate; was crucified, dead and buried: He descended into hell: The third day he rose again from the dead: He ascended into heaven, and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty: From thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost: The holy universal church: The communion of saints: The forgiveness of sins: The resurrection of the body: And the life everlasting. Amen.
