My Beloved Church Family,

I want to sincerely thank D. J. Alhorn (and my special ‘assistant,’ Parker Calvert!) for meeting me at the Church this morning and taking care of the recording and all of the technical matters. We will follow this procedure again next Lord’s Day as well.
I preached this message from our pulpit, just as I would on any other Sunday (the robe excepted . . . first time I’ve ever preached in Church on a Sunday while wearing a jogging outfit!!). And as I preached, I imagined each of you in the pews, Bible’s opened, and hearts and minds attentive to the Word of God.
Our prayer is that, while not the ideal situation, this recording might nonetheless be used of the Spirit to nourish your souls, lift your hearts, and fill you with an unconquerable joy, even amidst these trying hours.
We don’t know how long the present crisis will last. But one thing we know for sure is that all of this, down to the very smallest details and circumstances, rests securely in the mighty hands of the One who has loved us so amazingly. We are not to be afraid. We are not to doubt His tender mercies and constant watch-care over us. Even this very moment, our Savior sits on His throne, where He “always lives to make intercession” for us (Hebrews 7:25). Praise His Dear Name!
Please remember, that even though for a little while we cannot assemble together, we remain the eternally loved body of Christ. No virus, or even the very powers of hell itself, can ever threaten the flock that our “Good Shepherd” purchased with His own blood! We are all one in the One who loved us!
As you go about this week, with whatever challenges the Lord allows to confront us, please remember that my ministry to you will continue as always. And I also speak for my dear and faithful brothers on the Session and the Diaconate. We are always here for you!
I love you all so very much, and may our Father bless you richly as you receive His all-sufficient Word.

PS: Some have asked about how to give your tithes and offerings on these Sunday’s when we cannot meet. As for now, the best answer is to mail in your gifts to the Church.
