Call to Worship: Matthew 11:28-30

“Come unto Me, all you that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you, and learn of Me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and you shall find rest.”

Prayer of Adoration:

Song: “Praise to the Lord, the Almighty” – Hymn 53 v.1-3,5

Song: “O The Deep, Deep Love of Jesus” – Hymn 535 v.1-3

The Old Testament Lesson: Psalm 98

Confession of Faith:  The Westminster Confession of Faith, Chapter IX, Of Free Will

Man, by his fall into a state of sin, has completely lost all ability to choose any spiritual good that accompanies salvation. Therefore, an unregenerate man, because he is opposed to that good and is dead in sin, is unable by his own strength to convert himself or to prepare himself to be converted.

Song: “Christ the Sure and Steady Anchor” – CCLI #7045331

Christ the sure and steady anchor, in the fury of the storm;
when the winds of doubt blow through me, and my sails have all been torn.
In the suffering, in the sorrow, when my sinking hopes are few,
I will hold fast to the anchor, it shall never be removed.

Christ the sure and steady anchor while the tempest rages on;
when temptation claims the battle, and it seems the night has won.
Deeper still, then, goes the anchor, though I justly stand accused;
I will hold fast to the anchor, it shall never be removed.

Christ the sure and steady anchor, through the floods of unbelief;
hopeless somehow, o my soul now, lift your eyes to Calvary!
This my ballast of assurance, see His love forever proved;
I will hold fast to the anchor, it shall never be removed.

Christ the sure and steady anchor, as we face the wave of death;
when these trials give way to glory, as we draw our final breath.
We will cross that great horizon, clouds behind and life secure;
and the calm will be the better, for the storms that we endure.

Christ the sure of our salvation, ever faithful, ever true;
we will hold fast to the anchor, it shall never be removed.

The New Testament Lesson and Prayer for the Church: 1 John 3:13-24. Matthew Elliott, Ruling Elder.

The Sermon: “New Covenant Worship and Life: Part Three.” Hebrews 10:23-25. Dr. Michael Calvert, Teaching Elder.

Prayer of Confession:

Assurance of Pardon: Psalm 130:4

But with You there is forgiveness, so that we can, with reverence, serve You.

*Communion:

Song: “Joyful, Joyful” – CCLI# 25321

Joyful, joyful, we adore thee, God of glory, Lord of Love
Hearts unfold like flowers before thee, praising Thee their sun above
Melt the clouds of sin and sadness, drive the dark of doubt away
Giver of immortal gladness, fill us with the light of day

All Thy works with joy surround thee, Earth and heaven reflect Thy rays
Stars and angels sing around Thee, center of unbroken praise
Field and forest, vale and mountain, blooming meadow, flashing sea
Chanting bird and flowing fountain call us to rejoice in thee

The Benediction: From Numbers 6:24-26

The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make His face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn His face toward you and give you peace.
