The Man on the Throne
On Sunday, our study of Ezekiel chapter one will continue as we consider verses 26-28. We will take the first of two looks at this section of Scripture where the prophet describes (as best he can) what he sees as his gaze drifts skyward to what is above the cherubim. As we will learn, this astonishing vision concludes in a most dramatic way as Ezekiel collapses under the weight of what he has encountered there in Babylon (“I fell on my face,” v. 28).
This Lord’s Day, we will focus upon the “throne” the prophet sees, and the One in “human” form who is seated there above the clouds. Who could this be? What does this scene tell us about the God who has delivered us?
